After a hiatus of many days (or months), I decided to post a photo gallery depicting what caused me to stop posting.
During the vicious, early days of the semester, I woke up one Saturday morning, eager to finish off my homework and start the next week off ahead. After going through all of my emails, replying to them, getting my schedule together, and eating, I decided that I would get some exercise in before plunging into the full swing of homework. Not too much exercise, mind you. Just a little bit. Just a few swings of my katana. That’s all.
I sent an email to a friend with the following line:
It’s such a nice day outside, I think I’ll throw caution to the winds and go practice sword-fighting.
Famous last words… after practicing a simple maneuver, I slashed through three fingers on my left hand (thank the Lord it was my left hand). This happened in late January. Now, I have full use of my left hand again. I completely severed most of the nerves in my small finger and minorly damaged some in my tall finger; the middle one got off almost unscathed. Praise God for the human body; my sense of touch is not back yet fully, but in a few months it will be.
The other picture, in which it is hard to discern that I am sopping wet, is from when we had a tremendous thunderstorm. The un-tremendous part was when I got stuck out in the middle of nowhere walking in it. It has nothing to do with this post, actually… it’s only there to show that I can post two pictures as well as one.
